Kalou fires Auxerre into cup final
PARIS, May 10 (Reuters) - Bonaventure Kalou scored a goal and set up another
to help Auxerre beat third division Nimes 2-1 on Tuesday and reach the French
Cup final.

The Ivory Coast midfielder opened the scoring from a penalty after fellow
midfielder Lionel Mathis was brought down in the box two minutes into the
second half of the game in Auxerre.

Kalou then set up Finland midfielder Teemu Tainio, who doubled the lead with
an angled shot from inside the area on 78 minutes.

striker Matthias Verschave reduced the arrears from a free kick four minutes
into added time.

Nimes, who lost 2-1 to Auxerre in the 1996 final, had knocked out four Ligue
1 teams on their way to the last fomur.

They were saved by woodwork twice in the first half, a header on 39 minutes
by Kalou and a shot in the 44th minute by midfielder and captain Philippe
