"Until the 15th we are going to meet to have coffee, to tell some tales and then talk about what is definite and if Figo can return or not," he told reporters. Scolari said he would make some proposals to Figo to see his reaction. He added that the fact that the player has been sidelined recently at the Spanish giants would not hinder his return to the Portuguese squad. "The work in the national team is separate from the work he does, or does not do, at Real Madrid," he said. Figo, 32, announced his retirement from the Portuguese squad in August but he refused to shut the door completely on a possible return at a later date. Last month Figo hinted that he was on the verge of a comeback, saying that because he wasn't starting regularly for his club he felt less tired and could then return to the Portuguese team. "I retired from the international scene because I was tired and I wanted to dedicate my remaining years to my club. But as I am not a first choice selection at the moment I have started to think differently," he said. Figo's contract with Real Madrid runs until 2006 but has yet to be renewed.
