Porto beat Sporting in shootout to reach Cup final
LISBON, March 22 (Reuters) -
Porto beat Sporting 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time to
reach the Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday.

Porto, who have won the trophy 12 times, will meet holders Vitoria Setubal or

The match finished goalless after 90 minutes and Brazilian striker Liedson
put Sporting ahead with a header shortly after halftime of the extra period.

South African striker Benni McCarthy headed the equaliser five minutes later
to send the match into a shootout, in which Sporting's Moutinho had his

Both teams finished with 10 men after Sporting defender Marco Caneira and
