He now operates more on the flanks after earlier playing in a more traditional central striking role, and has recently been made captain of his current club Fulham. Boa Morte represented Portugal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens but is yet to win a squad place for a UEFA European Championship or FIFA World Cup tournament.
