Portugal's Figo makes dreams come true
MARIENFELD, Germany, June 30 (Reuters)

Portugal captain Luis Figo took time out from training for Saturday's
quarter-final clash against England to make one 10-year-old's dream come true.
葡萄牙國家隊的隊長Luis Figo在備戰星期六對英格蘭的訓練中，
抽空幫一名10歲的小朋友圓夢。
For Raquel Rodrigues, born with a condition known as cerebral thrombosis which
prevented blood from reaching part of her brain, meeting her soccer hero was
something to tell all her friends about.
Raquel Rodrigues天生就罹患腦血栓症，
與他的足球英雄見面這件事足以讓她向所有的朋友們說。
"He was lovely. He asked me lots of questions and I asked him about his
children," she said, wearing a Portuguese shirt autographed by all the
players and clutching a signed sticker book.
穿著一件上面有所有球員簽名的葡萄牙T-Shirts、手裡還抓著一本有簽名的書的她說：
「他很可愛。他問了我很多問題，我也問了關於他的孩子們的一些問題。」
While Figo, at 33 the oldest player in the Portuguese team, can often appear
grumpy on the pitch, Raquel insisted that he was all smiles when he showed
her around the training camp and introduced her to his team mates.
33歲的Figo是葡萄牙陣中最老的球員，
儘管在球場上的脾氣常常不太好，
不過Raquel強調在他帶她參觀訓練營並將她介紹給隊友時全程都帶著微笑。
"He invited me to go horse-riding with him in Madrid. I don't know if I can
go, but I would like to," she said.
「他還邀請我在馬德里和他一起騎馬。我不知道我能不能去，但我想去。」
Doctors had feared Raquel, born in Germany to Portuguese parents, would never
walk or talk, but her fascination with ball games seemed to spur her
development.
原本醫生擔心在德國出生的Raquel（父母都是葡萄牙人）永遠不能夠走、不能夠說話，
不過她對球類運動的著迷也促進了她的發育。
"Raquel was very sick when she was young, but she always loved playing with
balls. That seemed to help her and shortly after she turned three she started
to walk," said mum Alexandra.
「Raquel小時候體弱多病，不過她常常喜歡玩球。
這似乎對她很有幫助，在3歲的時候她開始可以走路了。」
Raquel still requires some medical care, but she plays football and loves
watching it, especially the Portuguese side whose posters are all over her
bedroom wall.
儘管Raquel仍然需要治療，但是她踢足球，並喜歡觀看這項賽事，
特別是葡萄牙隊，在她的房間牆上到處都貼了他們的海報。
"This was my dream, and Figo really was so nice -- all the players were," said
Raquel, showing off a scarf and watch that the veteran had given her.
「這是我的夢想，Figo人真的非常好－所有的球員都是。」
Raquel說著，並且展示這名老將送給她的圍巾。
Mum Alexandra, close to tears, could only sing Portugal's praises.
一旁快哭了的媽媽Alexandra，則是讚揚著葡萄牙隊。
"The players were super-nice and very down-to-earth," she said. "I think this
will help Raquel in her recovery -- anything that makes her feel happy is
good for her."
「球員們真的非常的好，
我想這會幫助Raquel的恢復－任何會使她快樂的對她都是好的。」
