Benfica Coach Fernando Santos was visibly saddened by the three-goal slamming
that the Encarnados received from Celtic in tonight's Champions League defeat.
The tactician rued a lack of luck in the first half and lamented the
collective psychosis that swamped the team in the second half.
"Celtic came out strong and put us under pressure, but after that we began to
get into the match a lot more. Benfica started a few good moves and we could
well have gone off at half time a goal up, but it just didn't happen", he
explained to Portugal's national broadcasting company RTP after the match.
Benfica在上半場有幾次不錯的機會，
原本有機會可以在中場休息時取得一球領先，但是沒有。
"In the second half we were ready to go for a win but suffered the first of
the three goals. We should have kept or heads and stuck to what we were doing,
but we fell apart. I really believe that if we'd have kept our calm we
wouldn't have suffered the second goal. The fact is that the team tends to get
anxious when behind and that's counter-productive", stressed Santos.
下半場被進了一個球，讓球員們感到很焦急，
如果可以保持冷靜的話就不會再失第2球了。
"Particularly in cut-throat competitions like the Champions League and against
experienced teams this has a real negative knock-on on the defensive system,
pulling the midfield apart and allowing the adversary n edge in counter-
attacks. Now Benfica needs to pull in 6 points in the next two games and wait
for the last game to see who goes through. This sort of defeat leaves welts
but I'm sure that we can still react", concluded the Coach.
現在Benfica需要在下2場比賽取得6分，在最後一場再來看看誰能晉級。
