United also said yesterday they had agreed "in principle" the acquisition of
both Anderson and Nani. "Terms are agreed with both players and an
announcement will take place once a medical and other procedures are done."
Anderson, who arrived at Porto from Gremio FBPA in December 2005, made only 15
Liga appearances for the Portuguese champions in 2006/07, being sidelined for
six months with a broken leg. The 19-year-old is in the Brazil squad for the
Copa America in Venezuela next month. Nani, meanwhile, is considered one of
Portugal's brightest talents, having helped Sporting to second place in the
championship and a Portuguese Cup success. The 20-year-old winger, who has
been capped five times, has played 58 league games over the last two
campaigns with Sporting following his emergence from their academy.
