At just 20 years of age Rui Patricio is the baby of Portugal's UEFA EURO 2008
party. The tall goalkeeper is reminiscent in appearance and playing style
of the Czech Republic's Petr Cech. An impressive debut season for Sporting
Clube de Portugal has earned him the role of third-choice keeper in Luiz
Felipe Scolari's squad.
Handed his opportunity at Sporting following the sale of Ricardo to Real
Betis Balompie in 2007.
Played for Portugal at 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.
Overcame challenge of Tiago and Vladimir Stojkovic to claim berth as
