French duo take title
French pair Michael Llodra and Fabrice Santoro beat top seeds Bob and Mike
Bryan to defend their Australian Open men's doubles title.
The fifth seeds celebrated their 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 win with an impromptu
striptease on Rod Laver Arena.
The triumph capped an eventful week for Santoro, who was kicked out of
the French Davis Cup team by captain Guy Forget who said he no longer
fitted in.
Forget claimed the 31-year-old's personality created "tensions".
Santoro was also fined for spittting at a linesman earlier in the tournament
during his singles defeat to Mark Philippoussis.
On sealing victory on Saturday, Llodra sat in his courtside chair with his
head covered in a towel and sobbed for several minutes.
And after receiving their trophy, the French pair stripped to their
underwear and hurled their clothing into the crowd to wild cheers.
