WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID
Haehnel: “I don’t know what to say. I can’t think at the moment. This is
great and unbelievable.”
“The best moment of the week was today’s match point. It was never ending,
I just went for it because I didn’ t want to regret anything or do an
unforced error. When his last shot went out it was such a relief, probably
my best career memory.”
Gasquet: “I am happy about this week. It was my first indoor tournament
this season and my first career final, I can’t be disappointed.”
“Jerome played really well, I had my occasions but he was there all the
time and I couldn’t do anything.”
“My objective until the end of the season is to play as many good matches
as possible in Basel and Bercy.”
Clement: " We are very happy to claim the title here in Metz. I really
enjoy playing doubles and it was nice to play with Nicolas [Mahut] this
week. We had a lot of fun playing together this week."
Mahut: "It is great to win again here. I was happy to play next to Arnaud
[Clement] who is such a great player. I hope he will be able to come back
to his top level in singles as well."
