Tsonga thrills again http://www.australianopen.com Wednesday, 16 January, 2008 By Tom Kelly Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has delighted the crowd on Margaret Court Arena, cruising past American qualifier Sam Warburg 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 6-2. The 22-year-old, fresh from his upset over Andy Murray on Day 1, showed his class with sizzling groundstrokes and smart play. The match was tight early, with both players struggling to adjust to blustery conditions. Tsonga was able to break in the seventh game with a beautiful lob over Warburg at the net, and the Frenchman went on to claim the set 6-4. Warburg surrendered an early break in the second, and was only able to level scores after Tsonga netted a backhand when serving for the set at 5-4. It went to a tie-breaker before Tsonga prevailed, winning seven points to Warburg’s hard fought four. The French world no. 38 again pressed ahead, however; prevailing in a tiebreaker and romping home in the final set, 6-2.
