French pair advance to final

French doubles veterans Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra are into the
men's doubles final at Australian Open 2008 after defeating Jeff Coetzee
and Wesley Moodie in their semi-final in straight sets.
The No.7 seeds took 94 minutes to win the match 6-3 7-6 (11-9).
South Africans Coetzee and Moodie converted just one less break point
than the eventual winners, and made no unforced errors during the match.
However Clement and Llodra had better percentages for winning on the first
and second serves and winning points when they were receiving.
The first set was frantic, with five breaks of serve and the Frenchmen
winning it in 30 minutes. The second set was the polar opposite, with
both pairs very strong on serve, resulting in no breaks. The match was
eventually decided in an entertaining tie-breaker, which Llodra and
Clement won on their third match point.
The other men's doubles semi final will be played later on Thursday
between Israeli pair Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram seeded eighth, and
No. 6 seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles.
