2003 IN REVIEW The No. 1 Frenchman for third straight season finished in Top 10 for second time in three years... Despite not winning an ATP title for first time in four years, reached two finals and advanced to his third career Grand Slam SF... Began season by advancing to QF at Australian Open (l. to Agassi) and one month later reached SF in Rotterdam... Did not win more than two matches in a tournament again until June at Queen's in London where he posted victories over three-time defending champion Hewitt (QF) and Henman (SF) before falling to Roddick in final... After a 2nd RD exit in 's-Hertogenbosch, put together an impressive run at Wimbledon with wins over Ferrero (4th RD) and Henman (QF) before losing to Philippoussis in straight sets... Became third Frenchmen (Leconte, Pioline) to reach SF at All England Club in Open Era... During summer hard court circuit, reached QF in Los Angeles and 3rd RD at TMS Montreal... Lost in five sets in opening round to R. Delgado at US Open but played consistently in final five events (8-5 record), reaching final in Tokyo (d. Srichaphan in SF, l. to Schuettler), QF at TMS Madrid and St. Petersburg...
