Tony Roche: Federer v Nadal is a classic

Former Roland Garros champion Tony Roche, the Australian coach of top
seed Roger Federer, did not hesitate to describe Friday's semi-final
as a classic. Read on for more of our exclusive interview.
How do you see the Nadal-Federer match?
It's a very interesting match. Obviously, Nadal is playing well. Although
Roger played well in Hamburg and won his matches well here. He's the No1
player in the world. It's going to be a tough match. But I know he's looking
forward to it. They have different styles of play. This is going to be a
classic match-up. Roger with his preparation has been spot on. He hasn't
overplayed. He's had some good matches under his belt. He got through the
first week without using too much energy. He's feeling good about it.

What will be the key to the match?
I don't know if you can say one key thing. Tennis is a funny game. It just
depends who plays the best and who gets the lucky breaks. The rallies are
going to be tough. It's important Roger stays aggressive and looks to finish
off the points.

What are Nadal's weaknesses?
I don't know if there's any weakness. He looks pretty solid to me. Obviously,
his weapon is his forehand. He's got a good solid serve. But it's not a serve
that will dominate, so Roger will have plenty of opportunities to do damage
on the serve. It depends on who gets the lucky breaks. It's just one of those
things on the day."

What are you the most satisfied with in Roger's game ?
With Roger, it's important that he has good variation in his game. Most of
theguys play sort of one type tennis while Roger has the ability to mix things
up. As long as he is selective in his shot selection then it's a big advantage
for him.
