Roger Federer battled gamely on Thursday, but was powerless to stop the
Djokovic juggernaut

So finally Novak Djokovic has got his nose in front. AFter 10 years of locking
horns with Roger Federer, the world No. 1 at last leads their career rivalry.
諾瓦克揪克維奇終於出頭啦。在與羅傑費德勒爭鬥了十年之後，世界球王最終在兩人
對戰成績取得領先。
Djokovic has played is old foe from his currenty, lofty position atop the
world rankings, and he has played him when he was a young hopeful on his way
up. He has faced the Mighty Fed when the Swiss was the untouchable figure
dominating men's tennis, and he has played him when he was the former champion
on a mission to reclaim his former glories. And Djokovic has won. He has won
lots of times. But Federer was always just that little bit ahead of him.
揪克維奇無論是位處世界排名的顛峰或還是個明日之星時，已和這老對手纏鬥多次。
他在這個萬能費還主宰男子網壇時就與他對決，也在這個前冠軍努力奪回昔日榮耀時和

But as they went into Thursday night's semifinal, the two great rivals were
honours even: 22 wins each. Now the undisputed king of the tour has his chance
to set the record books straight. And he did it 6-1 6-2 3-6 6-3. He did it in
style. He did it with ruthless precision.

After the first hour, Djokovic had everyone srabbling for their history books.
In just 54 minutes, he had run away with the first two sets and delivered
Federer such a thumping that no one could recall its like. The nearest we
could come was Rafa Nadal's pasting of the Swiss in the 2008 Roland Garros
final. But at least then Federer won four games. At this rate, Fed would be
back in his hotel and packing is bags in the next 20 minutes.
在第一個小時過後，揪克維奇嚇鼠所有人，慌亂尋找著記錄簿。才54分鐘，他已經拿下
兩盤，並且將費德勒狠踩在腳下，沒有人可以回憶起上一次誰讓費德勒如此狼狽。

But then Fed fought back. He had the crowd on their feet-this is what they
wanted to see: a real battle of the champions. And then Djokovic put his foot
down again and raced into the final, wrapping up the fourth set in 40 minutes.
Job done.
但費德勒開始反擊，他讓觀眾興奮得站起來，畢竟觀眾想看的就是冠軍對冠軍的競賽。
然後揪克維奇再次重腳踩下並衝向冠軍賽，以40分鐘結束第四盤。任務達成。
"Novak right now is a reference for everybody," Federer said calmly. "He's the
only guy that has been able to stop me as of late, and Stan (Wawrinka) when he
was on fire when he was in Paris. It's okay. I wish I could have played a bit
better, and who knows what would have happened.

Those first two sets were the key. Whatever Federer did after that, Djokovic
knew that he was the man in charge. A set dropped was nothing to worry about
and, anyway, he was playing one of the greatest players the game has ever
seen. Djokovic knew that his old rival would not go quietly. Champions do not
lose without a fight.
頭兩盤是關鍵。不管費德勒之後做了什麼，揪克維奇知道他還是主宰著比賽。掉一盤哪
有差，就算他的對手是網壇僅見的最佳球員也一樣。揪克維奇知道他的老對手不會輕易

"I think against Roger, these first two sets have been probably the best two
sets I've played against him overall I think throughout my career," Djokovic
said. "I've had some moments against him in sets where I've played on a high
level, but this was, yeah, I think a different level than from before. I'm
just very, very pleased that I was able to perform the way I did from the very
beginning till the end.
(完全不想翻）總之就是他說前兩盤是他跟費德勒對陣以來最高水準的兩盤。
"Of course, after two sets, you start to think the player of Roger's calibre
will start playing better, will change a few things.
（還是不想翻）總之就是羅傑會提昇水準。
"I don't think I've done too much wrong in the third. I was still playing
solid, solid tennis. He deserved to win that one. In the fourth, I served on
a very high level. I was very patient. I knew that I'm going to have my
opportunity. When it was presented, I managed to utilise it and win in four."
（依然不想翻）總之就是他自己打很好很好很好很好很好....
As for Federer, he was doing his best to reassure anyone who listened that
everything was absolutely fine. Sure he was disappointed to lose, but it was
not the end of the world. He had pushed Djokovic throughout the previous 12
months, and on Thursday he has still prised a set from the world No.1 when
Djokovic was playing out of his skin.
至於費德勒，他總之就是告訴大家一切都安啦。當然輸了狠難過，但也不是世界末日。
過去十二個月他和揪克維奇互有輸贏，然後週四晚上就算揪克維奇開無雙，他還是至少
拿下一盤了。
"I have self-confidence as well, you know," he said. "That doesn't fade away
very quickly. I know it's not easy. I never thought it was easy.
「ㄟ你馬修注意幾勒，我也是有自信心的」他說。「那個不會『啵』一下就不見了啦。
我本來就知道不容易，我從來就沒想過這是場輕鬆的比賽。」
"Best-of-three, best of five, I can run for four or five hours. It's not a
problem. I prove it in practice again in the off-season, no sweat. So from
that standpoint I'm not worred going into long rallies. I know you guys make
it a different case. I get that, because you think I'm old and all that. But
it's no problem for me.
三盤、五盤，我可以跑四五個小時沒差啊，逮就補。休季的時候我在練習場上試過了，

"But it doesn't scare me when I go into a big match against any player who's
in their prime right now. But of course you need to prove yourself. You need
to have all that going. It's disappointing, but at the same time I'm going
deep in slams right now. I'm having great runs. I thought I had a tough draw
here, so I'm actually pleased where my level's at at the beginning of the
season."
「不管我的對手是哪個日正當中的對手、在任何一個大比賽場合，謀爹挫ㄟ啦。只是還
是得證明自己一下，贏球也是證明自己的一部分。輸球很搥心肝沒錯，不過看看我現在
在大滿貫都可以打到蠻後面的唷。最近幾次我都打得不錯，這一次我覺得籤蠻硬的，但
我還是打到這裡了，所以以開季而言我還滿開心我的水準還在啦。」
Fedrer will not go away - he has made that very plain. But neither will
Djokovic. The defending champion is in his pomp; this is his time. And for
the moment, no one seems able to touch him.

其實每次都這樣，碰到揪口之前狀態都ok，一碰到Djoko就勞賽。唯一的解釋就是揪口
真的太強了。我不討厭揪口啦，雖然他贏球的樣子很囂掰，我比較討厭他的無腦粉絲。
就看看揪口可以維持到什麼時候，好看的球賽比較重要，第一二盤那種重虐還是少來
一點比較好....
