Going into the surgery, Bell was expected to be out just a few weeks or for the remainder of the season. His left wrist will be immobilized for six weeks followed by rehabilitation. Under the current timetable, he could return by the beginning of March. If he's on track to return before the end of the season, a contender might show interest in him and his expiring contract by February's trade deadline.
