Murray charged to a 4-0 lead before a series of double faults let Carlsen back into the match. But at 5-5, the 18-year-old regained his touch and closed out the set before racing to a 3-1 lead in the second. The Scot wrapped up the win as Carlsen struggled with an ankle injury and will face Mario Ancic next. Croatian Ancic beat New Zealander Mark Nielsen 6-1 6-2 in his first-round clash. I won and that's the most important thing Andy Murray Murray said after his match that the temperamental Auckland weather had proved more of a challenge than his opponent. "It was difficult because it was so windy and I think the sun from one end was in our eyes - when it moved it started to get much better," he said. "It's difficult to play matches, especially at the start of the year, when it is so windy. "I won and that's the most important thing - and I started to play better in the second set so that will give me confidence going into my next match." Murray then quickly played down a post-match comment - "I think we both played like women in the first set" - to an on-court reporter that drew some boos from the crowd. The Briton later said that he was referring to comments made last week by Russian player Svetlana Kuznetsova at the Hopman Cup. "I was watching a Hopman Cup match on TV from here and Kuznetsova said it after there were nine breaks in the first set, so that's why I said it," Murray explained. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.167.179.96
