Henman falls to Tursunov in Paris
Tim Henman battled hard but finally went out of the French Open in four
sets to Russia's Dmitry Tursunov.
The pair returned to the court with Tursunov leading by two sets after
bad light had stopped play on Wednesday.
And despite a marked improvement in his game, Henman could not ever
totally contain Tursunov's power and went down to a 6-3 6-2 4-6 6-4 defeat.
Tursunov, the 31st seed, goes on to face third seed David Nalbandian in t
he third round.

Henman was beaten by Tursunov at Wimbledon last year and the Australian
Open in January, and the Russian's huge power again overwhelmed the Briton
at times.

With the match slipping away and the light fading on Wednesday, Henman
had become increasingly frustrated and was given a code violation for one
outburst.
When the pair returned to a chilly Court Two on Thursday, a quick
finish looked on the cards as Tursunov soon broke serve.
But, encouraged by a supportive French crowd, the Briton fought back
and played some of his best tennis to take the third set.
It was just a shambles. The decision-making was nonexistent
Henman on Wednesday's decision to stop play
A miracle comeback looked on the cards when Henman earned eight break
points midway through the fourth but one missed smash in particular took the
wind out of his sails.
Almost inevitably, Tursunov broke in the next game and went on to serve
out the match.
Henman admitted afterwards that converting only three of 21 break points
proved decisive.
"That becomes harder and harder to deal with when you know that those types
of opportunities are what's going to dictate the match."
And the Briton remained unimpressed with the way play was brought to an
end the previous evening.
"It was just a shambles," he said. "The decision-making was nonexistent.
"I really wasn't that bothered whether we carried on. Not a lot was going
right, so I was happy to stop.
"But then you come back in the locker room, and there's five courts that were
playing for another half an hour, so it was just a bit of a circus really."
