Murray to rest after doubles loss
Andy Murray and James Auckland went out of the French Open doubles event
to top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan on Friday.
The British pair, who beat Australians Ashley Fisher and Jordan Kerr
on Thursday, lost 6-1 6-3.
Greg Rusedski went out of the doubles as he and Tomas Zib lost 6-1 2-6
8-6 to Dominik Hrbaty and Michal Mertinak.
Murray, 19, played doubles despite picking up a lower back injury during
his singles defeat to Gael Monfils on Tuesday and now plans to rest.
"I will now take three or four days off and then I'll start training
light,"said Murray.
"Hopefully by the end of next week I will be able to start training properly
again.
I really look forward to playing on grass
Andy Murray
"But my back feels much better than it was after my singles match when even
standing up was aching."
After making his major breakthrough at senior level during last year's
grass-court season, Murray is looking forward to getting back on the surface.
"It's fun to play on grass because the rest of the year you play on hard and
clay," he said.
"It's a nice change and it's good for your body because it's soft and you
seal points quickly
"There is less chance you can injure your groin or twist an ankle.
"I really look forward to playing on grass. I played well last year, although
I did not get the chance to prepare much for it."
