I'm happy to be officially retired. "Sometimes it's better to let things go. I could've been competitive for two or three matches but I'm realistic, I'm nowhere near the top 20." 但35歲的他跟衛報說:"我不回去了，你可以把這句話寫出來。我很開心我已經正式的退休。有時候就是讓事情這樣會比較好，現實來說我無法在兩場或三場比賽上具有競爭力，我現在狀態無法接近top 20。" Rusedski retired from the game in April 2007 and has been working for the Lawn Tennis Association as well as doing TV commentary work. But having reached the final of a senior event at the Albert Hall, in a field including Pete Sampras, Cedric Pioline and Stefan Edberg, he decided to offer his services to Great Britain captain John Lloyd ahead of the tie with Ukraine on 6-8 March. He added: "I wish it had been kept quiet. The only time I spoke about it was after it was in all the newspapers. "I only got into this because I want to help, but now I can't wait for this thing to be over so I can move on."
