A source told The Commercial Appeal, and various national media were reporting Wednesday, that Fratello will replace Hubie Brown, who resigned last Thursday, citing health issues. National media reports also indicated that Eric Musselman, another candidate for the Griz job, would be added to the coaching staff as a top assistant for Fratello. Lionel Hollins, who was named interim coach following Brown's resignation, directed the team in Wednesday's game against New York. "I don't have any clue what's going on, and it doesn't really matter because I've been asked to take over on an interim basis, however long that may be," Hollins said before the game. The Grizzlies would not confirm the reports. As of Wednesday night, no press conference had been scheduled for today. Fratello, currently a television analyst for the Miami Heat and Turner Sports, was an NBA coach in Atlanta and Cleveland for 13 seasons and compiled a record of 592-499, including playoffs.
