His fondness for Battier's game has blossomed even more given it hasn't taken Fratello long to learn that he can use the fourth-year player just about anywhere on the court and at any time. "I don't think anything has gone unexpectedly (since that draft)," Fratello said. "He's an unbelievable member of a basketball team whether he is a starter or whether he's a sub. He can play three positions very easily. He's going to give you everything he has and he's an intelligent player. He knows what his abilities are. He doesn't play outside of his capabilities. What more can you ask for?" 然後下面是一些 Battier 自己說的 :) "Most people stay at one job and are at a desk all day typing reports doing the same projects," Battier said. "I'm lucky. I get to do something different every week. I take on a new project every week. But it keeps me juiced." Battier gave up plenty of size to Brand. At first glance, Battier appeared no match for such an adept and powerful low-post scorer and rebounder. Smoke and mirrors, though, aren't a part of Battier's arsenal. He simply dug in and disrupted Brand enough that the Clippers essentially operated without a major scoring source. "Am I 250 pounds? Can I bang with these guys? No," Battier said. "I just do what I have to do when I'm in these matchups. I have to really know the plays. I have to pay attention to the scouting report and learn every angle to get every advantage I can. And then I have to go out and physically battle the guy. You have to make a guy work.
