General manager Chris Wallace announced the deal Saturday afternoon, saying
the Griz added versatility in Pondexter.
"He does a variety of things. He shoots 3-pointers. He can defend multiple
positions. He brings a number of things to the table," Wallace said.
"He's a young player who is on the upswing. He's a guy that just gives us
versatility with defense, rebounding and scoring punch. He's a very active
player. He gives us another athletic, interchangeable player."
"We're adding length, tenacity and energy," Griz coach Lionel Hollins said.
"We're getting more versatile as a team. We've got a more defensive-minded
player who knows how to play. You can't ever have too many good basketball
players. Quincy has good basketball instincts and a high basketball IQ.
"I really appreciate what Greivis did while he was here. What he did in the
playoffs was huge. We needed his performance. This was just an opportunity
and we took it."
