Kuo (0-3) was the sixth pitcher the Dodgers used. He went one inning and allowed one hit, but Little had no complaints with the Dodgers pitching, including starter Brad Penny, who went seven innings and allowed three runs on five hits and three walks. "I'm real pleased with the way our pitchers hung in there," Little said. "The bullpen came through very well. They made some good pitches and kept us in it as long as they possibly could." One of those relievers was Lance Carter, who pitched the 12th and 13th innings and allowed no hits. "That's what he needed, a game just like this," Little said. ............... ............... ............... The Dodgers' pitchers did give up a total of nine walks, including one Kuo allowed Willy Taveras in the 14th that led to the eventual winning run.
