Dodgers rally past Mets DeWitt hits inside-the-park homer; Kuo fans eight in relief By Ken Gurnick / MLB.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- LOS ANGELES -- Rookie Blake DeWitt homered for the second consecutive game, this one inside-the-park, and drove in four runs Tuesday night as the Dodgers rallied to beat the Mets, 5-4. Hong-Chih Kuo relieved after a short start from Hiroki Kuroda and overpowered the Mets for 3 2/3 hitless innings to get the win, tying a career high with eight strikeouts. Russell Martin scored ahead of DeWitt, who hit his first Major League home run the previous night. Church gave the Mets an early lead with a first-inning homer off Kuroda. In the second inning, the Mets parlayed four singles and a Kuroda throwing error into a pair of runs. DeWitt led off the second with a single and, after a Kuroda sacrifice, was singled home by Juan Pierre. The fourth Mets run (and second unearned) was scored by Moises Alou on a third-inning double-steal when Chin-lung Hu, filling in for injured shortstop Rafael Furcal, double-clutched before making a late return throw home.
