Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova feels she is well prepared ahead of her third round tie against Serena Williams on Friday. The 17th seed has taken care of herself both mentally and physically over the close season and believes she can make good use of her experience against the defending champion. "I took a bit of a longer break to really rest and get my body ready for the next year, she told Eurosport analyst Barbara Schett. "Also mentally, I'm trying to enjoy myself and not to be tough with myself on the court. "I'm trying to be a little more mature," she continued. "And I feel like I'm getting there. Getting experience makes me do things a little smarter." If Hantuchova is feeling good, then she is looking even better. The Slovakian seems to have gained a little weight and has seemingly put her problems of 2003 behind her to emerge as a far more daunting prospect on the court. And Melbourne Park is a venue the 22-year-old enjoys playing, where she feels the crowd understand her game. "I can't believe it's been a year already. It goes faster and faster every year," she said. AT HOME IN MELBOURNE "Australia is always a great place to come back to and so far I've been having a great time. I'm really enjoying it. Hantuchova and Williams will take to the Rod Laver Arena in the first of the late games on Friday, and if the previous four sessions on the same court are anything to go by, the atmosphere will be electric. "That's what you play for - to be on a court like that. I have to say the fans here are so nice, they are supportive and they understand the game. As for her opponent, Serena will be looking to uphold the family honour after sister Venus crashed out in the first round against unfancied Tsvetana Pironkova. But Serena has shown some typical powerful form so far this tournament and is unlikely to make it easy for Hantuchova. The American 13th seed has had a relatively simple run so far - beating China's Na Li and Camille Pin of France - but unlike several other seeds this year, she has made short work of her less talented opponents. Hantuchova revealed to Eurosport that she has a definite tactic to beat Serena, but was less willing to divulge any more details, for obvious reasons! "There is a tactic against Serena," she confirmed. "I will do my best to get ready for the match. It's going to be an exciting one for sure and I just can't wait to get out there on the court." -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 203.67.230.133
