SOFIA, Bulgaria The WTA's International Series has its season finale this week at the Qatar Airways Tournament Of Champions Sofia, and who better to blog from the event than former World No.5 Daniela Hantuchova-The classy Slovak gets back into the blogosphere in Bulgaria this week... Tuesday, October 30, 2012 Well, unfortunately I didn't win today, but I thought Roberta played a really great match. She dominated in every department. In the first set she hardly made any mistakes. All the credit to her for the way she played, and I thought she really deserved to win. I couldn't find the answers to change the match around, but it's a match I have to learn from and move onto the next one. I have a day off now and I'll get on the practice court and work on the things I need to work on! I also want to say I have so much respect for Roberta. I've known her for a long time - the first time we played each other was in the Under 12s, and I always knew she had so much talent. She has some of the best feel and touch on the tour right now, and it's nice to see a player like her doing so well when everyone else is focusing on power and strength. She really uses all the shots in the game. Today she just played awesome and gave me a lesson. She has had such a great year - I thought for many years she would be achieving all of this, and now she is. I'm really happy for her! Thank you for all of your questions, keep them coming! I'll answer a few now before going to bed... and I'll talk to you all tomorrow! Love, Dani Do you still practice the piano regularly, and would you ever start a second career as a pianist? Bas Thank you for asking about that! I don't have much time now because of all of the travelling we do, and obviously it's hard to travel with a piano, but I would love to start playing more. It's a great way to relax - you can turn your thinking off completely and just play. Maybe when I retire I'll get back into it more. I regret stopping after I stopped music school - I definitely want to start again! What is your favorite place to have a vacation? John, Canada Definitely Cape Town, South Africa. But Rome as well. I do love being in Monte Carlo too. There are a lot of beautiful places in the world :) What is your best memory of the 2012 season? Ryan The Olympics. It's the reason I started to play tennis. And after the injury I had, just being able to compete there meant so much to me - I wasn't sure I'd be back in time. And also the match against Li Na in the first round, to beat someone so tough... and also because it was at Wimbledon... so many reasons! If I had to pick another moment this year it would be when we qualified for the World Group in Fed Cup, after our tie with Spain. That was great for us. What is your biggest goal for 2013? Carl, Wales I just try to give my best every single day. Throughout the years I haven't been putting pressure on myself to achieve certain goals, I've always wanted to go on court every day and give it my best each time. Are you going to do your charity calendar again this year? Chris Unfortunately not this year :( I didn't have enough time because of the busy summer schedule and other things... but I promise I will for 2014!! How do you always stay in such incredible condition? Sue, USA Thank you for asking about this. I've always tried to be as professional as possible in all departments of my game, which includes my fitness. I think that's how I've been able to play for so many years without many injuries, mainly because I take care of my body well. And the more I've played, the more I've understood that the recovery and rehab exercises are just as important as strength and conditioning. It helps so much in so many ways. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 1.163.135.53
