Drew Gooden #90 Cavaliers
Drew Gooden is a man who can adapt to change. Since coming into the NBA as the
fourth overall pick of the 2002 NBA Draft, the amicable power Gooden has had
more coaches in the pros than his alma mater – the University of Kansas – has
had in their entire history.
Drew Gooden 是一個能夠適應變遷的人。自從2002年以第4順位進入 NBA 以來，他換過的

So when he was traded to Cleveland in the summer of 2004, once again he had to
make a change.

“My number has always been 0 and when I first got here, Jeff McInnis had that
number and he was being a pain in the (butt), not giving it up,” laughed
Gooden. “He really wanted that number.”

As he always does, Gooden adapted, improvised and overcame.

“So I chose 90 – because 9 was my second number in the NBA, with Orlando, and
my first number was 0, in Memphis,” said the fourth-year forward. “I just put
the two numbers together when I came to Cleveland.”

Dennis Rodman may have started the extension of numbers into the 90s when he
donned No. 91 with the Bulls. Now, it’s fairly common, with stars like Ron
Artest wearing No. 93. No Cavalier has ever worn the number 90.

“Sometimes I think I might, but I think number 90 has really grown on me.”

Royal Ivey #36 Hawks
Some players pick a number when they are first starting out playing their
sport, and never change it the rest of their lives. For Hawks PG Royal Ivey,
that was not the case - necessarily.
一些球員第一次出場時會選擇一個背碼，然後一輩子都不會變更。但是對老鷹控球 Royal
-Ivey 來說，卻不是這樣。
"In high school I wore number 12," says Ivey, who led Cardozo HS in Queens to
their first-ever New York PSAL title during his senior year before doing a post
graduate year at Blair Academy in New Jersey.
「高中時我穿12號。」Ivey說。Ivey 高中時帶領紐約皇后區的 Cardozo 高中取得 New-
York PSAL 冠軍。後來他畢業於紐澤西的 Blair 專科學校。
"When I went to the University of Texas for college, I decided to add 12 to
that to represent making the move to the next level."

As a four-year starter at UT, Ivey and his No. 24 jersey were a part of more
victories than anyone else in school history. But when it was time to jump to
the NBA, he had a decision to make.
四年的先發球季，Ivey 和他的24號戰袍帶回了隊史上最多的勝利。但是當他要跳入 NBA
時，他做了一個決定。
"I thought about choosing the place I got drafted as my number for the pros,
but I didn't like No. 37 (which is where he was chosen by the Hawks in the
second round of the 2004 NBA Draft). So I decided to stick with what I had done
at Texas, and now I wear No. 36."
「我本來想用選秀順位當我進到這個專業領域的背號，可是我不喜歡37這個數字(2004年老
鷹在第二輪第37順位挑選他)。所以我又做了我在德州大學做過的事，我又加了12，現在穿
36號。」
Wearing his No. 36 jersey, Ivey has started all but seven of the Hawks games so
far this season and maintains an impressive 3-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
本季 Ivey 已經穿著36號為老鷹先發了7場，留下了讓人印象深刻的3-1助攻失誤比。
