Hawks co-captain Al Harrington sat out Wednesday night's game
against Chicago with a sore hand and the sore chest muscle that's
bothered him for more than a week. But the Hawks did get Zaza
Pachulia back. Pachulia sat out Monday's loss in Orlando with a
sore Achilles. Rookie forward Marvin Williams took Harrington's
place in the starting lineup.
ANOTHER MILESTONE FOR JOHNSON: Joe Johnson needs just five
3-pointers to reach 500 for his career. He has four more games
to chase the milestone, one of many he has reached this season.
And he needs to play 144 minutes in the final five games to
eclipse Bob Pettit's single-season franchise record for minutes
played (3,296 during the 1963-64 season).
BASKETBALL WITHOUT BORDERS: The Hawks will be represented this
summer when the NBA's Basketball Without Borders kicks off its
annual world tour. Pachulia and Hawks assistant coach Herb Brown
will take part in the BWB stop in Lithuania. Josh Childress will
accompany the group that goes to China, and Hawks scout Harold
Ellis will be a part of the contingent that goes to South Africa.
The program, a basketball instructional camp for young people
that also promotes friendship, healthy living and education with
an emphasis on HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, features
current and former NBA players and team personnel as camp coaches.
SCHENSCHER RETURNS: Former Georgia Tech center Luke Schenscher
made his second trip back to Atlanta with the Bulls. Schenscher
didn't play in the Bulls' 95-90 win over the Hawks March 11.
But he's averaging 7.8 minutes, 1.6 points and 1.6 rebounds
during his time with the Bulls.
