http://www.henin-hardenne.be/bin/index.asp?lang=en US OPEN 2005: The Draw 24/08/2005: The razzle, and pomp of New York city lived up to it's reputation with the official draw presentation that took place at the United Nations building today for the 2005 edition of the US OPEN. A more than appropriate venue with 30 nations represented in the final major of the the year. This US OPEN will also field one of the deepest women's draw in recent times, featuring 9 champions of a grand slam title. Justine is seeded 7th this year, but the 2003 US OPEN champion is more than ready to show everyone what it is that truly makes her a breed apart from the other higher seeded players, contenders, and recently dubbed tournament favorites. Let the games begin! The bottom half of the draw features number 2 seed Lindsay Davenport. Top contending players along side her are Justine, Mary Pierce, Amelie Mauresmo, Anastasia Myskina and 2004 runner-up Elena Dementieva. The top half of the draw is highlighted by the newly crowned number 1 player Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters, the defending US OPEN champion Svetlana Kuznetsova, and Serena Williams. Justine in her opening round will play the Czech Republic's Zuzana Ondraskova ranked number 86; an opponent that she has defeated once before. If things go well, the 2003 champion will face American Angela Haynes or a qualifier. The first high seed Justine would play if she were to get to the fourth round will be Mary Pierce, and then a possible match up with either Amelie Mauresmo or Anastasia Myskina in the quarterfinals.
