The draw for this year's edition of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix was
released today. Despite losing Maria Sharapova, Serena and Venus Williams to
injuries the tournament looks to be a classic. Justine's seeded 4th, and will
have a bye for the opening match. She'll be hoping to beat her past records
here as finalist in 2001 and 2003 to make it at the top of the podium next
Sunday.
Justine is on the top half of the draw. She'll start out with a bye, and play
either Italy's Flavia Pennetta or Germany's own Julie Schruff in the opener.
If things move on sweetly, Justine will then face off in the quarterfinals
with either Daniela Hantuchova or Meghann Shaughnessy. Perhaps it maybe
another match this year with young talented rising starlet Ana Ivanovic or
Patty Schynder, but this time not on clay. If Justine makes it to the
semi-finals, she may play another brilliant battle against the tournament's
#1 seed Lindsay Davenport.
The bottom half of the draw features the #2 seed, and in form Kim Clijsters.
There's also Amelie Mauresmo, Elena Dementieva, and Nadia Petrova. Other
players on showcase are WTA ranking rising talents Anna-Lena Groenfeld,
Jelena Jankovic and Anabel Medina Garrigues.
Justine will play her first match on Wednesday or Thursday. Stay tuned right
