Fresh from her 4th title in Dubai Justine will play at the Qatar Total Open in Doha, and she'll be the #1 seed. The Belgian plays her first match on Wednesday against the winner of the Ai Sugiyama versus Alicia Molik first rounder. This will be Justine's second visit to Qatar; the first was back in 2004. In 2004 Justine lost the semi-final to Svetlana Kuznetsova in three sets; 2-6 6-4 3-6. The match was played in highly unusual conditions with heavy humidity, fog, and even a cat strolling onto center court. It was also memorable for the Russian as it has been the only win she has over the charismatic Belgian. Last year's trophy holder Nadia Petrova is not scheduled to defend her title, and a new champion will be crowned this year. Martina Hingis is the sole previous Qatar Total Open winner in the draw. The seeded players are #1 Justine, #2 Svetlana Kuznetsova, #3 Martina Hingis, and #4 Jelena Jankovic. All four will receive byes for the first round. The Qatar Total Open has announced that the winner will receive a brand new Harley Davidson motorcycle, and benefit from an increase of prize money at 1.34 million dollars, which places it among the riches in the WTA tier II category. You can catch Justine in action this week on televison at Eurosport with the Qatar Total Open broadcast. International WTA broadcasters will show the Qatar Total Open on tape delayed.
