And I hope I'm not going to wait four years before loving New York again." btw 他奪冠後隔天拍照很帥氣說 戴墨鏡那張 我看過但找不到在哪了...誰看到貼一下 全文 http://0rz.tw/2f32X Henin only gets better The U.S. Open champion with the stylish backhand says her forehand is better now, and her ability to overcome personal hurdles has resulted in a lightness on the court as well as off. By Lisa Dillman, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer September 10, 2007 NEW YORK -- Connoisseurs of tennis can wax poetic, well, for hours, about the beauty and precision of Justine Henin's one-handed backhand. But listen to this piece of information: "Probably, my forehand is my best shot now." The speaker was Henin herself, and the setting was the players' lounge on Sunday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and those words held frightening implications for her colleagues on the tour, not even 24 hours after she won her second U.S. Open championship and seventh Grand Slam singles title. Henin, seeded first, made it look easy, not dropping a set along the way and crushing No. 4 Svetlana Kuznetsova in the final, 6-1, 6-3. "When I was a little girl, I was dreaming of just winning one Grand Slam, and I've won seven now and it still pretty hard to realize," Henin said. "That's a big number because it's more than my dream what I've achieved on the tour. "Especially after everything I came through this year, personally. . . it was tough to come back professionally, but I came back stronger and I proved a lot of things to myself. And I proved to myself I really love tennis." These meetings with a small group of media are typical for the women's champion after Slam finals -- almost a reconstruct of the fortnight -- and the way the 25-year-old Henin is going, she is turning these chats into self-help sessions. Much has been made of Henin's off-court as well as on-court journey in 2007. She started divorce proceedings, and the subsequent fallout over the breakup of her marriage with Pierre-Yves Hardenne forced her to miss the Australian Open. But it worked to reunite Henin with her estranged family members, including her father, later in the year. Melbourne was out of sight, nearly out of her mind. But Henin said she did watch the men's final -- of course, another Roger Federer victory. "My mind was always from tennis at that time," she said. "It wasn't like I was feeling sad not being in Australia, I was just feeling somewhere else. Tennis wasn't important in my life. . . it was much more important a few weeks later. . . . I had to fix everything." Henin returned in February to the tour, and gradually, it became clear that the least known of the top players was more open and relaxed than ever before. She made the semifinals in her first event back, in Paris, and hit her stride a few weeks later, winning Dubai and Doha and then, in June, her fourth French Open championship. "Not a lot of people, probably much more than now, know me until this year," Henin said. "The people around me, they always kept saying, 'Justine is a great girl, you should know her. She's funny.' It was tough for me to show that, and it's hard to explain why. I wasn't myself." Henin also spoke about the hard work she has done with longtime coach and mentor Carlos Rodriguez to boost the power on her forehand side and the effort to add speed to her serve, not an easy task given she is not quite 5 feet 6. Technique can't quite trump size and muscles, but it can help. Rodriguez not only has asked a lot from Henin, he demands the maximum, seemingly on a daily basis, going back to her teen years. "I can tell you when I met Carlos I was 14 years old and I was a disaster technically," Henin said. "Really. We spent six months just to change my grip on my forehand. I was playing like the Spanish." That would be using the extreme Western forehand grip. "I was terrible," she said. "For six months, I didn't play any tournament. I was just working on that part of my game. And my serve. When I see I can serve fast and consistent, it's just great because I know where I came from. Carlos never gives up. He really believed in myself. That's why I'm here." And lighter and freer of emotional baggage. Henin, who won here in 2003, got off her share of clever lines, starting with her inability to win Wimbledon, coupled with the same thing for Federer at the French Open. "I can give him one French if he gives me one Wimbledon," she said, smiling. Then there was this subtle nod to the locals, saying: "I love New York every four years. And I hope I'm not going to wait four years before loving New York again." -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.217.196.101
