LLEYTON HEWITT has set his sights on a fourth consecutive title at the top tune-
up for Wimbledon, the Queen's club event, in June.
The world No.1 will be top seed at the West London venue from June 9-15 and will
use the week to prepare for the defence of his grand slam trophy at the All Eng
land Club.
In 2002, Hewitt completed a hat-trick of Queen's triumphs with a three-set win o
ver Tim Henman. He will hope to join John McEnroe and Boris Becker as the only f
our-time champions at the tournament.
He could also become the first to win four titles in succession.
"It would be a a tremendous honour to win it for a fourth straight year," he sai
d. "These courts are in fantastic condition year after year."
Also confirmed for the field will be hometown hero Henman. The British No.1 has
lost to the Australian in the final in each of the past two years.
He underwent shoulder surgery last November, but is still finding his form with
the clay season just beginning.
"This one that I really want to win," said the 28-year-old. "I've been to the fi
nal three times before and I want to go one further."
Also aiming to compete: Brit Greg Rusedski, who has not played this season after
foot surgery.
Others expected in the mix include 1997 winner Mark Philippoussis, former US Ope
n champion Marat Safin, last year's Wimbledon semi-finalist Xavier Malisse, and
Americans Andy Roddick and James Blake.
Thai Paradorn Srichaphan, 10th in the Champions points race, is entered. The Asi
an made his mark at Wimbledon a year ago as he beat Andre Agassi and claimed his
first two career titles at Long Island and Stockholm.
