A: I don’t know. I think I’m looking at the bigger picture and not really looking at Hamburg. So, to go out there in my first match on clay this year apart from the Davis Cup, obviously a long time ago, 2 1/2 hours and feeling like I could have gone longer out there is for me pretty pleasing. As long as I came away with a win, to win those tight matches as I’ve done in the past I guess it brings out memories of the other many matches as well. Q: There was a moment in the final set when you were breakpoint down, did you get worried? A: I felt that I was always going to have a chance to break him at some stage . He’s got a great serve, but on that court out there it’s pretty tough to get any cheap points on your serve. He played as well as he could as well. It was a good match for to get the guts out and pull out and to dig deep. Q: You dominated the first set so easy. Why did it turn around? A: I really wasn’t sure how I was going to play. I came out and hit the ball great right from the start. I didn’t actually think he played poorly in the first set. We had tight games. I just won a lot more of the bigger points in that first set. Then, he went to another level after that. It’s always hard after you win a first set, you haven’t played a lot of matches, you sort of have that lapse in concentration a little. It was 6:1 and 1:0 and 0:30 there , that was probably the time, I could have put him away. Q: Did you have a head cold? A: A little bit. Q: Nothing serious? A: No, I hope not. Q: As Markus became better in the game, the crowd really went behind him. How did you feel the atmosphere? Did this push you in a certain way? A: No. I didn’t hear the crowd. Q: Are the conditions heavier and that make it difficult to apply pressure? A: Yes, it’s very heavy. It’s probably as heavy as we’re ever going to play. Especially with the weather and when you have to put that roof, it makes it more heavy. I think a lot of the guys come in and say how much heavier it is. And these balls don’t help either. It’s totally different to the French Open. And the balls are totally different as well. Q: On the whole, do you feel refreshed at this stage of the year? A: Yes, I feel not bad. Q: You haven’t played any matches since America and you are faced with some real tight points tonight you’re game rose at those points. Do you feel you played your best tonight when you needed it most? A: Yes, I did. I think that’s the pleasing thing to still come out and play the points when you need to. That was probably the difference tonight. Q: What about playing Clement the next round? A: I haven’t played him for a while. He’s a crafty player, very quick around the court. I never played him on clay. But, I’m just going to go out there and play my game and if I play as well as I can, hopefully I’ll be alright. He is a tough competitor, he beat Lapentti in the first round. It’s going to be tough. Q: What would you like to do better, is there something you could improve? A: Maybe try and get more cheaper points on my serve, but in those conditions it’s tough for anyone. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 61.217.128.247 ※ 編輯: noanoa 來自: 61.217.128.247 (05/14 20:23)
