Lleyton Hewitt: I am here and ready to go! (2:01 PM ET ) Marlene (Richmond,VA,USA): You've worked really hard to ramp up your serve. Any chance of seeing you follow it into net? With your quickness and good hands, I'd think serve-n-volley might be a viable tactic. Lleyton Hewitt: I'm not going to do it every point but I probably will throw it in to add another dimension to my game. But it's hard to practice and then not use it in the match. For now, I'm staying at the baseline mostly. (2:02 PM ET ) david (boston): lleyton...i'm not sure if you still do, but it used to be that after a big point you'd flatten your hand and point all five fingers at your forehead...what was the deal w/that? Lleyton Hewitt: Actually, Wilander used to do it and I used to watch him all the time. I just took it off him! (2:03 PM ET ) Randy: What brand of clothing will you be wearing in Montreal? Lleyton Hewitt: I'm not wearing any brand at the moment.(2:03 PM ET ) Josh (Mesa, AZ): Lleyton, what's you're game plan for the next time you meet Roger Federer? Can you spot any weakness that you can utilize to help your game? Lleyton Hewitt: Not sure yet! Obviously he is the best player going around at the moment. I think it's important to get to a good start with him because he is such a great frontrunner. (2:04 PM ET ) Adrian Aussie in Vietnam: Giddy Hewy, There has beed mush debate in Australia about a good nick name for you? The latest no 1 is the Aussie mossie! What do you think about that one? Anyway we are still very proud of you young fella and congrats on tying the knot. Have a fantastis US season OK Bud! Cheers Riddles Vn/Aussie Lleyton Hewitt: Aussie mossie, huh? I haven't heard many suggestions. People close to me call me Rusty. But I'm more than happy if you guys want to come up with something. But you have to do better than that! Dara Lancaster, Ca: Do you think Having a family will change your game play or how you play at all? Lleyton Hewitt: I don't know. Priorities might change a bit but my scheduling will still revolve around the majors and the Davis Cup. (2:05 PM ET ) Urmi: (Ambler and Pennsylvania):: You're not going to retire early right? Because you are my favorite player in the whole entire world. I love you!!! Lleyton Hewitt: Not that I"m aware of! Touch wood! You never know with injuries though. It's such a demanding game on your body. But I feel great at the moment. (2:06 PM ET ) Katia B. (Moscow): What do you consider your best shot? Lleyton Hewitt: Probably my backhand. (2:06 PM ET ) Sophie Dufour (Serignan, France): Was your wedding the best day of your life? Lleyton Hewitt: Best day. No question. (2:07 PM ET ) PQ (Peticoin, Quebec): Lleyton, do you think you can win the French Open someday? Lleyton Hewitt: It's going to be the toughest for me to win. But, yes, there is a chance. So many great clay court specialists makes it harder. (2:07 PM ET ) Jia, New York: First off, congratulations!! Your fans are very happy for you and Bec. My question is how do you deal with all the negative criticism that comes from journalists and tennis fans attacking your competitive spirit? I for one find it essential to have an edge of competitiveness and a battling energy in what is a very individual, competitive sport. Keep up the fight Lleyton, you make tennis worth watching! Lleyton Hewitt: I get annoyed occassionaly but I have learned to block it out and just play my game. Everyone is ultra competitive out there. (2:08 PM ET ) josh (mesa, AZ): Lleyton, what's your view on Nadal? Is it just his lucky year, or is he going to be more of a threat in coming months? Lleyton Hewitt: He's a great player. He's going to have a long career, no doubt. He loves the big matches and handles himself very well. He will learn to play better and better on other courts. (2:09 PM ET ) Paul (Manhattan, NY): I certainly would not want my tennis world without a Lleyton Hewitt in it, do you feel there is a need for more edgy players? Lleyton Hewitt: I don't know. Everyone is very different. That's what is so great about our game. I'm different from Roddick or Federer or anyone. It's great for the game to have different personalities. (2:10 PM ET ) Matt (Grand Rapids): Has there ever been a time where you took the emotion over the top to get into an opponents head? If so did it work? Lleyton Hewitt: Not on purpose! I'm always focusing on my game and whatever comes out comes out. (2:11 PM ET ) trey (melborne, FL): How far do u think you can reach in the US Open? Lleyton Hewitt: I feel really good about the Open. It's one of my favorite tournaments. I feel very comfortable in NY. (2:11 PM ET ) John (Islip, NY): Who are you friendliest with in the locker room at big e vents, aside from the other Aussies ?? Lleyton Hewitt: Right at the moment I hang out with the Assuie guys and the Davis Cup guys. Tim Heman (sic) is a great guy. (2:12 PM ET ) Hernan USA: Do you think you can be number 1 again? Lleyton Hewitt: I think I can but it keeps getting harder and harder. Federer is such a great player, it will be tough for anyone to take it away from him. (2:13 PM ET ) Rick (Austin): Lleyton, I'm heading to Australia for the first time next month. Any suggestions as to what/where I should visit? Lleyton Hewitt: Sydney is one of the best sites in the world. The Great Barrier Reef is amazing. (2:13 PM ET ) Urmi (Horsham, Pennsylvania): What do you want a boy or girl? If it's a guy will it be named Lleyton? Lleyton Hewitt: Doesn't bother me either way! (2:14 PM ET ) Richie, Boulogne: Would you want your child to be a tennis player? Lleyton Hewitt: I wouldn't be pushing them in that direction but whatever they grow into would be fine with me. I just want them to enjoy it. (2:14 PM ET ) Nabeuh (England): Do you think Henman will ever win Wimbledon? Lleyton Hewitt: It's going to keep getting tougher from here on but you can't rate his career on whether he wins Wimbledon or not. His record there is still impressive considering the pressure.(2:15 PM ET) Sylvain, San Francisco, CA: Lleyton, what type of training do you do with weights? Lleyton Hewitt: It's a mixture of everything. I've started more weight training in the last year or two and it's been a big bonus. (2:16 PM ET) Ron (Coral Springs, Fla.): Lleyton, what do you think of the ATP's plan to shorten doubles sets? Lleyton Hewitt: It's hard to say. They are in a tough situation in that some tournament directors want to cut it entirely. (2:16 PM ET ) sam, from cali: What really happened to your ribs? Lleyton Hewitt: I was starting to train and slipped down the stairs .. I was only wearing socks .. and cracked two ribs.
