Hewitt Meets Quebec Special Olympics Athletes
Following his opening round win over Bob Bryan at the Tennis Masters
Canada in Montreal on Tuesday, No. 5 seed Lleyton Hewitt met up with
seven Special Olympics athletes from Quebec. Tennis is not yet offered
as ab by Special Olympics Canada, but recreational programs are offered
to some members in the Montreal area.
After having watched the Wimbledon and US Open champion defeat American
qualifier Bob Bryan 6-2, 6-2, the Australian answered their questions
and offered techical tips and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
"I have been fortunate to have earned the title of champion in tennis,
but Special Olympic athletes ear that title every day of their lives,"
said Hewitt. "Their courage and success over daily challenges is the
true definition of a champion."
