Lleyton Springs Christmas Surprise on Kim
Lleyton Hewitt will marry longtime partner Kim Clijsters after Clijsters accep
ted a surprise proposal during a romantic cruise on Sydney Harbor on December
23. No date has been set for the wedding of the former World No. 1s, who having
been dating for four years. Nor is there news on where the wedding will be held
. Clijsters resides in her native Belgium; Hewitt in Australia.
"It was a special evening together in one of the most beautiful cities in the
world," Hewitt, 22, told Melbourne's Herald-Sun Newspaper. "We couldn't have
asked for more."
Clijsters, 20, said the proposal was unexpected. "Lleyton did surprise me a bit
but I couldn't be happier," she said. "He has always been one to pay great
attention to detail but I think he outdid himself this time. It was amazing."
Hewitt's management company Octagon confirmed the engagement.
