新聞來源 : Sky Sports Spurs run rule over Cesar Reports in Spain suggest that Tottenham are the latest Premiership club to show an interest in Deportivo La Coruna defender Cesar. The 28-year-old has attracted the interest of Newcastle and Liverpool in the past but is now understood to be a target for Martin Jol. A full Spain international, Cesar is currently out of favour at the Riazor following the arrival of new coach Joaquin Caparros. The former Sevilla boss has opted for a first-choice central defensive pairing of summer recruit Juanma and Portugal international Jorge Andrade leaving Cesar out of the first-team picture. Indeed, the ex-Oviedo stopper has made only two substitute appearances so far this term. A powerful and physical defender, Cesar's style seems ideally suited to the English game and his lack of action could now precipitate a move. Depor have previously refused to release the player claiming he was a key member of their squad, but Caparros' stance could see him depart when the transfer window reopens. The player himself admits he would jump at the chance of a move if he continues to be overlooked, and Galician daily 'El Ideal Gallego' insists Spurs are now at the head of the queue for his signature.
