Jol 'gutted' after Cup exit The usually amiable Martin Jol admits he was left "gutted" after Tottenham suffered a surprise FA Cup reverse at Leicester. All the more galling for Jol was Spurs' inability to preserve a two-goal lead and the Dutchman believed his side were guilty of some haphazard defending which allowed The Foxes to turn a two-goal deficit into a 3-2 victory. "We were 2-0 up and of course we were the better team because we had the better players," fumed Jol. "But because of a lack of concentration we gave away a comfortable lead and ended up in the dressing room at full time feeling gutted. "We started the game well, created lots of chances and scored two good goals. "But then we gave away an awful goal because we allowed Leicester to cross from the wing and could not defend it properly at the back post. "That made it 2-1 before half time and it was a goal which gave Leicester a lifeline. "And their second goal was all too easy as well because we gave away a corner unnecessarily and again failed to defend it properly." The Foxes claimed the winner in controversial circumstances, with matchwinner Mark de Vries appearing to be in an offside position when he received a long pass from Joey Gudjonsson. However rather than criticise an assistant, Jol was more concerned by a breakdown in communication between central defensive pairing Michael Dawson and Anthony Gardner. "There was a debate about whether Mark de Vries was offside for their third goal but it doesn't matter now," added Jol.
