Members of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust met up with their counterparts from Sevilla in central London on Wednesday night – proving again, if proof were needed, the camaraderie between the two sets of fans. The friendship started before last week’s UEFA Cup quarter-final, first leg in Seville when the Trust was invited to meet members of the Sevilla Supporters Club at a restaurant next to the ‘Fan Zone’ area set up specifically for Spurs fans in Seville. The Mayor of Seville and members of Sevilla’s board also made an appearance. The two sets of fans met again at the Gaucho Grill in Picadilly where they again swapped souvenirs and stories. Daniel Wynne, Chairman of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust, explained: “Before and after the game in Seville was everything you would expect from a European tie, the fans were friendly and warm towards us – there was good-natured rivalry, of course, but in the spirit of watching a football match. “We wanted to meet up again for two reasons. The first was to return the hospitality we had extended to us in Seville, the second to show that there are absolutely no problems between Spurs and Sevilla fans. “What happened in Seville was nothing to do with Sevilla fans and they were quick to emphasise that with banners at their home match against Real Zaragoza on Sunday, the fans last night were keen to show me photographs of those banners. “It was another great evening and some strong friendships have been formed.” Pictured right is Daniel Wynne, Chairman of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust and Ramon Somalo Infante, Chairman of the Sevilla Supporters Club while below, back row, from left are Bernie Kingsley, Darren Alexander, Daniel Wynne and Ramon Somalo Infante.
