Spurs dominated the first-half at White Hart Lane without creating many clear-cut chances and then went a goal down seconds after the restart. And while Steed Malbranque managed to find an equaliser just five minutes later, Dimitar Berbatov was among the players to miss golden opportunities to put Spurs in front. "You have to finish," Poyet told Sky Sports. "You have to put the ball in the net to score goals to win games, so that's why we missed our chance." Bolton's goal came after a period of confusion just before the second-half kicked off, as Alan Hutton took to the field only to be taken off before the half began. Poyet says the Scotland international - who hurt himself leaping into the stands as he chased a loose ball - wanted to go out for the second half to see if he was fit, but he admits the incident may have led to Stelios Giannakopoulos getting the opener so soon after the restart. "Maybe we lost concentration for a minute, but I think we reacted very well. We went for the game, we had the chances to get the equaliser and everybody was expecting us, I think, to score the second, but we didn't." Spurs announced earlier in the day that Croatia international Luka Modric had agreed a ￡15m move from Dinamo Zagreb. The midfielder, who came to the attention of many English football fans after his starring role in Croatia's victory over England in November, had been linked with moves to a host of top sides including Arsenal and Chelsea, and Poyet admits it is a boost that he chose to head to White Hart Lane. "That's good news," he said. "It's exciting. "He's going to be amazing to have around next year and so I look forward to working with him. "He's an all-round player.
