Danny Rose and David Button both played 90 minutes as the England Under-19
side were defeated 2-0 by hosts Czech Republic in the opening game of their
European Championship campaign.
Two second half goals in the space of three minutes from Tomas Necid proved
to be the difference in Jablonec, despite the best efforts of our lads.
The Slavia Prague striker had earlier been denied by Button, who made a
spectacular stop from his 28th minute header.
But a mix-up between our 19-year-old Reserve team goalkeeper and Birmingham
City's Krystian Pearce in the 55th minute allowed Necid to break the
deadlock, and he soon doubled his side's advantage.
Danny, David and co will now look to get back on track in Group B when they
face Italy at the same venue on Thursday evening.
