"Let me tell you something," he said. "You know you are having a bad shooting game when you hit the game-winning shot and that don't even go in." Iverson's high-arcing runner was swatted away by Al Thornton, but referees correctly called goaltending and the Pistons were able to escape Staples Center with an 88-87 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. "That's the top, the best worst-shooting game I've ever had in my career," said Iverson, who scored his 18 points despite missing 15-of-22 shots. The victory ended the Pistons' winless Sunday streak at six games, and it kept three other streaks alive -- the Pistons' winning streak is now at seven, the Clippers' losing streak is also at seven and the Pistons have beaten the Clippers 12 straight times. "Finally I got an easy shot, a shot I knew was going in and somebody comes out of nowhere to goaltend it," Iverson said. "I knew he had goaltended the shot, but the hard thing for me was it was so loud in there, I didn't know they had called it. All I was thinking was, I struggled so much all game and now it just got worse." The call was made, but the Pistons' work wasn't done. Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy agreed with the call, but not with the time of the play. The officials put 2.8 seconds back on the clock. Dunleavy argued that it should have been set at 4.2. Still plenty of time for a red-hot Eric Gordon to squeeze off one more shot. The Clippers rookie scored 13 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter, including his team's last 11 points. "Iverson made the shot, but I thought the play of the game was that last possession," coach Michael Curry said. "We switched Tayshaun (Prince) onto Gordon and his length really bothered that shot." Gordon had done most of his damage against Iverson and Arron Afflalo. But Prince forced him to shoot a tough 8-footer as he was fading away from the basket. The Pistons, though, would not have been in a position to win had it not been for the efforts of Rodney Stuckey, Prince and Antonio McDyess. Stuckey scored 24 points, including the first seven of the fourth. Prince scored 20 points, including four clutch points in the final 1:20. He also made a heads-up play on the Pistons' winning possession. They got the ball with 21.8 seconds left, and the initial play called for Prince to isolate and take his man on the baseline. But Prince slipped and alertly called timeout to avoid a committing turnover. As for McDyess, he came into the game with a sore thigh and sore ribs. He wasn't on the court for three minutes before he dislocated the pinky finger on his left hand. McDyess had the finger popped back into place and then made every hustle play down the stretch. He finished with 15 rebounds, 12 in the fourth quarter. "That's just unheard of," Curry said of McDyess' performance. "He's battling a thigh bruise, a rib injury and he hasn't played. You saw out there the couple of times he got hit he was wincing. But he just plays, man. He wants it bad. He wants to finish the last couple of years of his career with a championship and he just lays it on the line." Both teams started the game with nine healthy players. The Pistons again were without Rip Hamilton (groin) and Rasheed Wallace (right foot). The Clippers were without Zach Randolph (knee), Chris Kaman (left foot), Baron Davis (tailbone), Ricky Davis (knee) and Jason Hart (right elbow). By all accounts, Wallace should be ready to play Wednesday in Portland. The Pistons are being more cautious with Hamilton, who hasn't tried to sprint or make a hard cut yet. ************************************************************************** 此篇徵求熱心大大翻譯 感恩嚕! -- Only the strong survive- Iverson ═█┘ W ● ●︵ ● ●)) <\ / \\ />>/ ╲> >> ========= http://www.wretch.cc/blog/AWEI3 ========= -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 219.71.2.41
