The pacey Nigerian striker is still only 19 years of age, but has already pushed his way into the first team places at the San Siro. Often leaving Christian Vieri on the bench, Martins has gone from strength to strength since making an explosive debut in late 2002 and earned the nickname Oba Oba. Martins was one of several African stars honoured at the ceremony in Yaounde, as Real Mallorca forward Samuel Eto’o was named Footballer of the Year.
