Goran Ivanisevic's dream of returning to Wimbledon hangs by a thread after
a flare-up of his elbow injury during his 6-2 6-2 defeat to Jan Vacek in
the Stella Artois Championship
Ivanisevic went downhill after losing serve in the first game of the match
and admitted he had had few hopes of Queen's Club progress after coming
into the tournament short of match practice.
But he is more concerned with the results of the scans he will have on his
elbow and troublesome shoulder.
Ivanisevic said: "I didn't expect to win to be honest. I had some cortisone
shots in my elbow but when I hit my serves it hurt.
"It is frustrating not being able to serve and if I can't serve then all
I am useful for is mowing the grass or painting the lines or serving the
strawberries.
"If I had to play one more match of my career it would be Wimbledon but I
don't just want to go on court and crawl like a pig and do nothing.
"I am already a member so I can come and have some tea and watch some
matches. But I still believe that when I am fit I can do anything at
Wimbledon."
