Date of birth: 25 February 1978 Position: Defender Current Club: Yokohama F Marinos (JPN) Defender who was a key ingredient in Japan’s 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. Nakazawa earned his nickname “Bomberhead” for the long dreadlocks he wore as a young player. Has represented his country at the 2000 Olympic Games and the 2004 Asian Nations Cup. Never a favourite of former national team coach Philippe Troussier, he is being seriously considered by Zico as one of his starters in central defence.
