Date of birth: 22 January 1977 Position: Midfielder Current Club: Bolton Wanderers (ENG) Despite the emergence of Shunsuke Nakamura and Shinji Ono, Hidetoshi Nakata will unquestionably be one of coach Zico’s key options in Japan’s FIFA World Cup squad, and he will be given a brief to boss the midfield. The 29 -year-old, whose excellent vision and clever passes are up there with the finest, is widely regarded as the best footballer and biggest star that Japan has ever produced. 儘管近年來中村俊輔和小野伸二的崛起，中田英壽之於日本的重要性和名聲減損不少，但他仍舊是 Zico 教練心目中日本代表不可或缺的關鍵人物，也是日本完整中場裡的最後一塊拼圖。這位現年 29 歲的球星擁有傑出的球場視野，他的傳球不僅聰明且總是恰到好處，中田英壽被認為是日本島國有史以來最棒的足球選手。 Nakata was first spotted by scouts as a teenager and he enjoyed a seamless transition from amateur to professional level when he walked straight into J League side Bellmare Hiratsuka after leaving high school in 1985. The second Japanese player after the legendary Kazu Miura to play in Serie A, he got his career in Europe off to a good start, scoring ten goals in 33 games.
