Date of birth: 5 April 1979 Position: Midfielder Current Club: Kashima Antlers (JPN) Versatile midfielder who contributed three goals in nine matches in Japan’s FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. Ogasawara is hoping to make his second FIFA World Cup appearance, having featured in only seven minutes in the tournament which Japan co-hosted four years ago. He also played for his country in the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship, and the 2003 and 2005 editions of the FIFA Confederations Cup.
