Date of birth: 1 September 1976 Position: Midfielder Current Club: Jubilo Iwata (JPN) Graceful defensive midfielder, who has proved his worth in more than 50 Japan international appearances. Fukunishi featured at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the 2004 Asian Nations Cup and the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup. Was a catalyst in Japan’s qualifiers, joint top-scoring with three goals. Made his debut in the national team in 2002, the year in which he won the Japanese league crown with his lifelong club Jubilo Iwata.
